7 spots in central New York to celebrate the Fourth of July

Event: Cazenovia’s 48th Sidewalk Festival
When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: Albany and Lincklaen Street
While the adults shop and bargain with vendors set up along the sidewalks street, magicians will perform for kids in attendance. A farmer’s market will also be available throughout the day.
Event: Star Spangled Weekend Celebration
When: Saturday and Sunday 12 – 10 p.m.
Where: Sylvan Beach Amusement Park
The park will hold give-a-ways, a craft show and musical entertainment in the name of independence.
Event: Annual Teddy Bear Parade
When: Saturday 10 – 11 a.m.
Where: Cannon Park
Kids of all ages gather with their family and teddy bears and march to the Cazenovia Library singing children’s songs. Activities and refreshments will be available.
Event: Treleaven’s FreedomFest
When: Saturday 1 – 6 p.m.
Where: Treleaven Wines
The festival will be kicked off by local band Always Under Construction with a mix of rock, blues and country music continuing through the day. Traditional bar food and craft beers will be served at the bar.
Event: Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Festival
When: Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Munson-Wiliams-Proctor Arts Institute Campus
The Sidewalk Art Show will feature more than 250 works of media, mainly framed works of art. An antique auto show will be held throughout the weekend along with crafts for the kids.
Event: Cherry Picking
When: Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Varick Winery and Vineyard
While central New York is known for apple picking in the fall, cherry picking is where the fun is during the summer. Afterward, sample the vineyard’s award-winning wines and fruit jams.
Event: 3 Sisters Lighthouses Centennial Celebration
When: Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Rear Range Lighthouse Park
Free rides on a solar-powered canal boat, kayaking and a children’s fishing tournament all to celebrate 100 years of the Three Sisters lighthouses on Oneida Lake.
