3-star cornerback Hudson verbally commits to Orange
Three-star cornerback Cordell Hudson of Largo (Fla.) High School verbally committed to Syracuse’s Class of 2014, he announced via Twitter Sunday afternoon. Hudson is now the Orange’s 15th verbal commit and third defensive back expected to comprise next season’s incoming class.
In his three-year varsity career at Largo, Hudson accumulated 54 total tackles and six interceptions.
According to Scout.com, the 5-foot-11, 168-pound Hudson selected SU over offers from nine other schools – most notably Atlantic Coast Conference foes Boston College and Wake Forest, as well as Rutgers, South Florida and Iowa State. Air Force, Ball State, Buffalo and South Alabama were also interested.
Hudson is also the second Florida recruit in the Orange’s incoming class, joining quarterback Alin Edouard, as SU offensive coordinator George McDonald continues to reel in recruits from the Southeast United States.
