Former Syracuse basketball recruit Moustapha Diagne reportedly to enter NBA Draft

Moustapha Diagne, a former Syracuse Class of 2015 signee, will declare for the NBA Draft without signing an agent according to CBS Sports. Diagne was slated to join the Orange in 2016 with Malachi Richardon, Tyler Lydon and Frank Howard before an academic issue prevented him from attending SU.

He instead played this season at Northwest Florida State Junior College. The 6-foot-9 center started 31 of 33 games and averaged 10.2 points per game while hauling in 7.3 rebounds per game.

Because Diagne reportedly will not sign with an agent, he’s allowed to withdraw from NBA Draft consideration and return to Northwest Florida State by May 25. Collegiate players with remaining eligibility can declare for the NBA Draft by April 25 and participate in NBA combine events.

Malachi Richardson is the only non-Syracuse senior to declare for the NBA Draft, and he also did so without signing an agent. The NBA Draft will be held on June 25.
